We recently recruited a number of new people in our health food store. They need to know everything about natural nutrition and the body so that they can give optimal advice. It is therefore very interesting when we find people who have followed specific training. Consumers' quest for natural food is great these days. More and more consumers want food without additives, which is also less processed and contains only a limited number of "recognizable" ingredients. "Absence of additives", "country of origin" and "locally produced" are increasingly important purchasing criteria. Lately there has also been a huge rise of the poké bowl: a Hawaiian dish with a nod to Japanese cuisine. It contains many natural and organic ingredients.

In 2019, there were more plant-based options than ever before, especially when it comes to protein sources. Nowadays there is also much more use of local raw materials from Belgian farmers.

A year ago, purely for fun, I decided to follow a Nutrition and Herb Specialist course at the Center for Evening Education. I really liked that. In the meantime I have opened an organic shop together with a friend as a secondary occupation. I have not regretted it for a second! - exStudentSpeaking
